Trying to grow out my hair...

Ok so check it...

My hair is bothering me. Here's why:

It's thick, wavy, and bleached (I'm sorry, "blonded") beyond belief. I use a straightening iron on it everyday. With all of this heat styling and chemical processing, it goes without saying that I get BREAKAGE. Bigtime.

So I decided to just have my hair cut in March 2008...and it was fierce.

See? I was kinda going for the graduated bob thing.
But then...EVERYONE AND THEIR DOG got this hair cut. And it turned me off from it.
So I'm trying to grow out my hair now.

Problem: I know its growing...I get crazy roots every 8 weeks. But it keeps breaking. And I don't have the money to buy the expensive stuff to fix it.

Solution: Surprisingly...for me...(PS--I work at a hair salon and I still SWEAR by salon products) the only stuff that has been working to get my hair to stop breaking has been Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Shampoo & Conditioner (@$2.99 each) and De-Frezz Cream by Sunsilk ($4).

My Way to Justify the Breakup With My Salon Products (for now): I think back to when I was in high school and I had long, gorgeous hair. And then I remebered that when I was in high school, I used drugstore shampoo & conditioners. Maybe all of these salon-brand products are a load of shizzzz?? I don't know. But I do know that right now, Herbal Essences is working; so I'm stickin with it. That, and I'm cheap.

In the mean time, I am using clip-in hair extensions. Sally's beauty supply has Remy's Euronext 100% Human Hair Extensions ($69.99 per pack). My hair is thick, so I bought 2 packs. They have all different colors, so its easy to find one that will match those gorgeous golden locks of yours! I had mine cut to blend in with my short layers in my real hair.

Here's what it looks like:

You can't even tell I have short hair. The only thing I hate is that I can't let people touch my head or they would know my little secret. ha.

This will definitely do for the long year ahead of me trying to grow this mop out! Thats it for now!
